Pros: amazing value for money, outstanding staff, full support once in hungary
"I flew out to Budapest three days ago to have Laser Surgery on both my eyes. I had been quoted £3990 in the UK by several companies even though most of them advertised rates from £395! From the moment I arrived in Hungary SCMT have been at my side to guide me through the process. Their advisor met me at the airport and brought me to my hotel - I decided to stay at the same hotel were the clinic is based.
The clinic staff have been absolutely amazing. Before traveling here there was a chance that I would be unable to have surgery due to the size of my eye (apparently they are small). During the preliminary examinations they thoroughly checked, and even phoned the surgeon who was at a conference elsewhere. The following day the surgeon herself checked my eyes and declared that they could perform the operation. All they needed to do was create a larger 'flap' in my eye.
Later that afternoon I was met by SCMT representative who accompanied me to the operating theatre. The procedure itself was completely painless and only took about 15 minutes from start to finish. The results were stunning immediately. 10 minutes later I was back in my hotel room. Within a few hours my sight had improved even further. The only side effects I have even noticed are that my eyes are a little itchy and bloodshot,. But this will pass over the comming days.
The following morning I returned to the clinic for a thorough checkup. Every member of staff asked me how I was - their kindness was very touching. I was declared fit and spent the afternoon walking alongside the Danube - the city is beautiful. It is so nice to see things without the frame of glasses surrounding your vision, or the sensation of contact lenses.
I cannot recommend this service enough. If you have ever thought about laser eye surgery check this company out. I saved over £1500 even after paying for flights and 5 nights in a 4* hotel.
