"After years of problems and neglect, my upper teeth were a mess. Then one day I chipped one of my front teeth which left a gaping hole and it was then that I decided to do something about the state of my teeth. I did not have a dentist in the UK and had not seen one for 5 years but I knew the type of treatment I required would be very expensive, so I decided to research treatment abroad on the internet. Straight away I was confronted with Turkey, Cyprus, Germany, Bulgaria and many other countries offering cheaper treatment, where should I go? I did not want a disaster that would make things worse and cost more money. So I did more research around the standard of treatment and found that Cyprus had standards as good, if not better than the UK. I then looked for a dentist and found the Nicosia Dental Polyclinic to be offering implants good enough to have a ten year guarantee. The Braemark implants are the best in the industry and so I decided these were the implants I wanted. I emailed the clinic with pictures of my teeth and they came back to me to say I required 5 implants. I then booked a week in Cyprus and went to meet Doctor Marios. Dr Marios talked me through his experience, showed me his qualifications and talked me through the treatment process. I was very happy that the treatment would be of a high standard and went back a couple of days later to have the implants. The work took about 2 hours putting the implants in and Dr Marios talked me through the process as he worked. I was also given “tv” glasses so I could watch a documentary of choice while the work was carried out to occupy my mind. When finished I was given a tempory denture to cover the gaps. I did suffer mild bleeding and pain during the night post operation but suffered very little bruising and soreness that I have read is common with this type of treatment, I am told this is because the work was done quickly by Dr Marios. The Implants take at least 3 months to settle so I went back 6 months later to have the the crowns and veneers put on. Two more visits and I was now confident to smile again, for the first time in a number of years. I had a couple of fillings and an hour of hygienist work during my visits and everyone at the clinic is very friendly and professional toward myself and my family. I would highly recommend this clinic."

Friendly, honest and excellent value for moneyDate: 14 June 2008
Pros: perfect english and excellent value for money Cons: there isn't one!
"For the last few years I have suffered from peridontitus. I knew this would mean that eventually I would need either dentures or implants. I didn't want dentures!!
So in December of 2006 I decided to research all my options. Such options took me on a journey visiting a local private English dentist, then to visit a dentist in Poland and then a dentist in mainland Spain. To say I was confused about the treatment suggested, was an understatement. Not to mention the difference in prices! I was completely overwhelmed by it all.
I do remember though, reading an article some time ago (last year) in the Sunday Telegraph newspaper about a dental surgery in Cyprus, The Nicosia Dental Polyclinic (http://www.dentalcyprus.com) and so I decided to look into this.
There followed some email correspondence between myself and Dr Marios Taramides. I was very impressed with their initial service, consisting of several emails and a phone call. Marios was very approachable, understanding and professional with me - he spoke perfect English too! and so I booked my first appointment in June last year (2007)
My treatment took 3 visits to Cyprus (8 days, 2 days and 10 days). I had 5 implants and 2 veneers fitted at half the price quoted to me in the UK. The practice was fantastic with all the latest equipment and the staff very friendly.
As for the treatment I can honestly say I never felt a thing - I was expecting the procedure to be painful, but it wasn't, even now some 12 months later I still can't believe my good fortune in finding Marios - he is an absolute gem.
I spent 6 months researching this and visited 3 different dentists in 3 countries none of them could compare or meet the very high standards set by the Nicosia Dental Polyclinic.
The whole process was relaxed and I had a fantastic holiday too! and the results are superb.
I would highly recommend this practice to anyone considering dental surgery abroad"

Experience of Dental Treatment AbroadDate: 10 June 2008
"When my wife Cyndy and I were informed by our Dentist in Oxfordshire that we both had periodontal gum decease and a number of our teeth will have to be extracted and replaced by implants, as well as the replacement of our existing crowns, we were so shocked at the prices we were quoted, we decided to seek a second opinion. We sent an email to Dr Marios Taramides and asked him, if he could help us obtain the below listed information in order for us to assess whether our journey to Cyprus was worth undertaking. These were:-
A) The equipment and dental material used at the Dental Polyclinic and the qualification and training of the Periodontal Dental Surgeon. B) Prices competitive enough to consider travelling abroad to have our treatment.
We obtained the answer of item A) by phoning Dr Taramides directly and we were satisfied with the answers he has provided us. We therefore decided to proceed and provide him all necessary information of our dental health in order to obtain a total package of our treatment with reference to item B).
After quite a lot of correspondence, all necessary appointments and a total package; we decided to go to Cyprus for our treatment as well as having our holidays there at the same time. We made our appointments in advance so that we could start our treatment as soon as we arrived there.
What a lovely surprise we had when entering the Dental Polyclinic. It was modern, clean and very welcoming. Everyone was professional, friendly and highly skilled.
I had six implants, two crowns including all necessary periodontal treatment work at a fixed price of GB£6,600 against a UK price of GB£12,960. My wife Cyndy had six venners, ten crowns and an implant at a total cost of GB£5,320 against a UK price of GB£9,980. The two journeys we made to Cyprus including our holidays cost us GB£4,100.
It is worth mentioning that the implant brand you get at the Polyclinic is the famous Branemark system, which is the most sophisticated system in the market and gives the patients a 10 year written guarantee. The porcelain veneers and crowns are also of top quality and are manufactured in Sweden. Also all Dental equipment and apparatus are of the latest design and technology from top German manufacturing companies.
The treatment was very quick and pain free and the appearence which it has made to both of us is amazing. We are both thrilled with the professionalism and cleanliness of the Polyclinic, including the staff, nurses and everone who was involved with both our treatments. They also treat you like a person and not like a number whose money is more important to them than your welfare.
We would definately recommend the Nicosia Dental Polyclinic to anyone who is seeking expert dental work."

Pros: no communication barrier Cons: prices quoted in euro
"After suffering a heart attack two years ago my UK Dentist informed me that I had peridontal disease which was accelerated by the trauma. I have lost 4 teeth up to now and have another 2 which are loose. I couldn't live with a denture so was referred to a UK Specialist who recommended 2 implants and a possible bridge or 4 implants. The quoted cost which increased each time I consulted the Practice encouraged me to look further afield.
Having visited Cyprus many times over the past 15 years I decided to look there and was so fortunate to find Dr. Marios. From the moment I completed the enquiry form the help, advice and service from all at the Nicosia Dental Polyclinic has been exemplary. All the arrangements were completed via email and freephone for my visit to see Dr. Marios in May when I had 2 implants fitted. He liaised with my National Health Cardiologist here in the UK to confirm my fitness to have the treatment and to check any conflicts with my prescribed medication. I was extremely nervous about the procedure but can honestly say I never felt a thing, not even the injections to numb the area - the whole procedure was completed in 20 minutes. Dr. Marios gave me some pain relieving tablets should they be necessary, his mobile number with permission to ring at any time but this wasn't necessary because he rang me at the hotel to check everything was OK. I occasionally felt a dull ache for a couple of days but nothing to stop me enjoying my holiday in beautiful Cyprus, absolutely amazing. The main concern in my case was the amount of bleeding or bruising but not a drop of blood was shed and no bruising occurred. I will go back to have my teeth loaded in September when it will be cooler and I have decided to have 2 more implants on the other side plus 6 veneers to my front teeth. I will update you when all my work is complete but all I can say for now is "THANK YOU DR. MARIOS AND YOUR TEAM""

"Having had an accident that discoloured my front tooth a number of years ago, added with the fact that my teeth were extremely crooked, i had treatment at this excellent clinic. Very easy to find, english speaking and superbly quick and profeesional treatment make Marios' clinic the ultimate in medical care in my opinion. I recieved 10 veneers, 6 top and four bottom in less than 2 weeks and they look as good as if i endured 3 years of wearing braces. It also cost half the price as it would have at home in Ireland. I can not say enoughh about how good this clinic is. Go there!"

Something to Smile AboutDate: 13 May 2008
Pros: english speaking state of the art clinic
"I was always conscious that my front teeth ruined my smile so I was delighted that an affordable option to fix them was available abroad. I researched various countries but when I came across Nicosia Dental Clinic, I was relieved to be able to discuss my teeth in English. I sent over a digital image of my teeth by email and I was able to chat about what was possible and the costs before I even left the country. I received exactly what was agreed and at the price that was agreed. I am very happy with the service, the results and my smile so much so that I am sending my son over for his birthday later this year to sort out his teeth."
