"I am not the best dental patient in the world and my teeth definately needed extensive work. The results are amazing. I am so happy with the results and that I chose Dr Marek and his team. I did extensive research before making my choice but I had also been recommended to them by a very satisfied friend. Dr Marek is a very talented cosmetic dentist and also a perfectionist. I would certainly recommend him and his team."

Pros: piestany is lovely town easy to get to lovely ch Cons: sad to think of dentistry we have to put up with
"Excellent, pain free zone. Good journey, First Capital Connect to Luton, picked up at Bratislava and taken to hotel. Saw Dr. Marek next morning, x-rays etc. Went in afternoon for full treatment of 5 implants and more. Have had previous implants with Harley Street dentist which was horrific in comparison. Dr Marek, very professional, unbelievably organised with timing, so many injections in roof of my mouth but almost pain free! I could enjoy dinner that evening instead of being in agony for a whole week with a bruised face. With Dr. Marek no bruising, no pain, no discomfort and thoroughly professional. Piestany is lovely place to spend a few days anyway with spa centre and walks by River Vah etc. lovely food too. Cheap hotel, Hotel Anna Maria (about Eu 94 x 2 for 2 nights with full breakfast and best coffee)."

Pros: short flight from uk, price, friendly staff, english speaking, hospitable, aftercare, accomodation booked for you, picked up / dropped off at the airport
"" Excellent communication with the clinic from the start. The clinic looks after it's patient and Dr. Marek is an outstading dentist. I would recommend Piestany Dental Clinic to anybody as I am over the moon with the final result of my teeth. They are perfect!"
When I came back home from the clinic, everybody was so eager to see my teeth, so the only thing that I've been doing since I got back is SMILE! All my friends think that the work done is amazing, and one particular friend can't stop looking at my mouth when I talk and I have to remind her to look me in the eyes, as I was getting quite self conscious about it :) ( but not in a bad way )
The miracle that Marek performed on my teeth is undoubtedly second to none, and I am so happy that I chose Piestany Dental Clinic to have my crowns etc done. I cannot rate it highly enough, and have emailed the website details to one or two people who are interested in having restorative work, either for themselves or for their children.
All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. They are polite and you never once feel that you are a second rate human being just because you're teeth aren't up to scratch in the beginning. Copious cups of coffee and tea are on hand, and Marek and his dental team are as patient and as gentle as possible.
Daniel is the main man when you need to speak to somebody about your flights, accomodation or anything else to do with your bill, treatment etc. You email him in the evening, and the next morning you will have a reply ( due to time difference ). He goes out of his way to make it as pleasurable an experience as possible and you never, ever feel pushed into doing something. You email your initial concerns about your teeth to him with a photograph, he will consult with Marek and then get back to you within 24 hours.
IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD!!
Any doubts? Don't have! You're getting the very best dental treatment available, at an absolute fraction of the cost you would pay in rip off Britain. You'll never look back, I promise."

"The professionalism of Dr. Marek, the clinic staff and Daniel is outstanding. Through the whole process of my four implants I felt very comfortable and well looked after. Plus, they give a lift to/from the airport, offer accommodation and suggested a beautiful spa which really worth a visit! I am glad to have found this lovely and skilled clinic, and my only regret is not to have found it before!"

Fantastic dental treatmentDate: 14 March 2010
"Dr.Marek, Daniel and their team were brilliant. From the dental work side of things, I needed route canal work as well as the crowns that I wanted to give me my smile back. Knowing of my fear of injections & pain in general, Dr.Marek & his nurses were great & I was amazed at how little discomfort I suffered. 2 hours after having route canal work done I was out in a lovely restaraunt in Piestany eating steak! Our first visit was in an apartment in Piestany, on Valentine's Day my girlfriend & I were on Spa Island being pampered. Our second visit, to have my "real teeth" put in was supplemented by a wonderful visit to Vienna including a horse & carriage ride. I would recommend Dr.Marek to everybody requiring dental treatment. The whole experience was fantastic & I am so happy I made the right decision. By the way, Slovakia is very inexpensive & the people are so friendly."

"Being very nervous of going abroad alone to a country i had never been before was enough to put me off ,but i bit the bullit after much research into the dental practices abroad.I am proud that i managed to get it rightwith this fantastic clinic ,i found the flight extremly easy and the pick up at the airport was very good. There was no pressure to have any work carried out and i knew that i was having a professional consultation. Dr Marek is an expert in his field of cosmetic dentistry i felt totally at ease with his opinions and programme of work needed, he managed to work on me the same afternoon i arrived up untill the early evening and for six hours the following day,he went the extra mile for me at my request and i could not thank him enough.M y teeth are beautiful and can now smile with confidance. All of his team are very friendly and helpful but most of all genuine, i cannot stress enough to anyone considering this clinic to go and at least meet the team and i know there will be no regrets and thats coming from someone who is very sceptical of everything."

Service With a Smile !Date: 13 December 2009
Pros: around half the price of uk dental tretament. Cons: weigh up the time and cost of travel
"A first class, professional dental treatment and care service.
My treatment consisted of four Zirconium Crowns; after a year of broken and a lifetime of crooked front teeth, this one trip instantly changed and improved my appearance.
The staff are nothing but totally professional and the consultation process is refreshingly unhurried.
Of course, this kind of dental treatment is universally available. However, Dr Marek and the Piestany clinic genuinely offer a wonderful dental service at half the cost of UK practitioners.
If you are prepared to travel abroad for dental treatment, this practice can be categorically recommended."

Gleaming smile!Date: 04 December 2009
Pros: excellent facilities, good local hotel options
"My teeth has caused me great insecurity sine my early teens- courtesy of a bad diet and an early love of night clubbing and partying which had left them looking like a 60 year olds by the time I was 29.
Furious at the escalating cost of UK dentists and being a professional (thus no reductions in costr) I decided to look into other options and came across the Piestany clinic. I was soon booked on a flight over having received a good quote for new veneers.
Just 2 visits later and I am now back in London enjoying a whole new lease of life. I look healthy again and my new smile is perfect while looking beautifully natural.
The staff were great- very friendly and especially understanding towards my irrational fear of the dentist chair- they took their time with me making me comfortable enough to not panic... despite having major work.
Big thanks to everyone and hope to see them all soon when we go back to get my partners teeth looking just as gorgeous!"

Pros: treatment care and cost Cons: long day if you don't plan to stay
"I would highly recommend Piestany Clinic and am so pleased I chose them. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and highly professional. I had 8 implants and 32 crowns and made 4 visits to complete my treatment. On each visit I was picked up from the airport and taken to my accommodation and was taken back to the airport for my return flight home. I did on one occasion fly out and come back the same day. I would recommend that when you are having implants to stay as although the treatment is pain free you can encounter some pain later on when the injections wear off. Dr Marek is brilliant, explains all the treatment and on two occasions when I experienced a problem when back in the UK personally telephoned me at home. I did return to the clinic with an infection/root canal problem a month after my treatment had finished, as although I consulted my local dentist, I returned to Piestany clinic as the treatment there is far superior compared to the UK and given the choice preferred Dr Marek to carry out the work which he did free of charge. I paid in total around £9,700. I didn't get a quote here in the UK but I am sure it would have cost around £25,000 to £30,000 . The cost of one implant at my local dentist is from £2,100 and this is without the cost of the implant crown. I am extremely happy with my new smile and wish I had thought about it years ago instead of putting up with false teeth. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the clinic. So If you are considering making a trip abroad for treatment this is the clinic to choose. You won't regret it."

Operation or treatment:
16 Zicronium Crowns
16 Crowns and a great smileDate: 09 November 2009
Pros: quality of work, price, service, friendly knowlegable staff, going the extra mile on non dental matters Cons: piestany in winter is a little quiet
"Visited Piestany twice over the last 3 weeks initially for 4 days which included the initial consultation to review what was required and then to start the work required upon the 16 crowns that wwe agreed upon. I had 10 old horrible crowns on my upper jaw and in order to give me a great smile I opted for a further six on the bottom front.
On the first visit Marek prepared both upper and lower jaw and fitted temporary crowns. The treatment itself took about 6 hours in total over 3 days. Upon my return last week they fitted the crowns over 3 hours and then I had a one hour session with Barbara the hygenist.
The result is that I am over the moon and had a white, wider natural looking smile for less that £5000 for 16 high quality Zicronium cermaic crown.
I was quoted £13000 in the UK.
Marek the dentist was great, the clinic do all the things they say they would do and pick you up from the airport and take you back again. They recommended hotels and would have booked them for me.
It was 5 star treatment using all of the latest technology and a consultative approach to your treatment, lot of photos taken and options provided and lots of advice re tooth shape, colour selection etc... . I stayed at the Hotel Sandor which was fine and can recommend the Central an Jazz art resturants on winternova.
Piestany itself is very quiet though and apart from the bars and resturaunts unless you want spa treatments I would recommend that you take plenty of reading and dvds. I did enjoy it though as I like Bars.
I would highly reccomend this clinic if you want great work at a good price."

Excellent ServiceDate: 11 October 2009
Pros: value for money, helpful and friendly staff, staff go the extra mile to help you, free pick ups from the airport and back again, free mobile phone to contact family and friends
"I went to Slovakia after being quoted £10K in the UK for three implants which was to include a bone graft due to lost bone.
My sister in law who is Slovak suggested I go abroad for treatment due to the savings I would make in costs. I was aprehensive but decided to look on the internet and see what I could find. I found the Piestany Dental Clinic on the website and sent it to my sister in law who decided to make a few calls to check them out for me. She came back and said she was happy and I sent an email to the clinic to ask about the prices etc. I was amazed I could save almost £7K. I decided to go for it and booked my first treatment and flights. I was met at the airport by a friendly chauffeur and transported to my hotel / apartment accommodation which was sorted for me. I met the staff at the clinic and they were friendly and spoke excellent English. The dentist was very friendly and spoke to me about the treatment which I had the very next day. I was very nervous but put at ease by the staff at the clinic. The treatment went ahead and I was told at each stage what was happening and checked on to ensure I was comfortable. In total I made three visits with my husband and on one visit we took our teenage daughter. The clinic staff were very helpful and helped arrange everything including extra things like horse riding for our daughter, cycle hire and train fares for a trip to Vienna. The surrounding area in Piestany is beautiful - lots of spas to visit, excellent bars and restaruants and things to do. I am very happy with the work that was done and would fully recommend their services."

Gay?Date: 06 September 2009
Pros: british dental accredited., young & fun bunch of staff., a holiday destination it self. Cons: slight language barrier in town.
"As a Gay man I am not overtly "camp" but do take a pride in my appearance especially when clubbing etc,,,! I am single at present and more than anywhere, on the Gay scene "first impressions are important". Its very hard to try and learn the skill I acquired of NOT smiling at anyone when I was out. Look at the "before" pics of my smile (if you can call it that!) and you'd understand why any poor soul who took a shine to me would make his polite goodbyes once I smiled. A miss-spent youth of very heavy drinking (and smoking,,,which I still do) had taken its toll , the enamel had fallen away and last november a front tooth just fell off in my breakfast bowl! I'm not particularly vain but knew I'd just never meet anyone looking like that and it was beginning to get me down tho only my best friend noticed and hassled me to get my teeth done. Though I'm a great supporter of the NHS, to support that one must accept that for whatever reasons, if your working etc etc, there's little help. I didn't even have a dentist having slipped off the radar during my alcoholic days! I have done well out of the credit crunch as my investment properties were intrest linked! So, with 3weeks holidays looming I just hit google "Dental Holidays". What got me hooked on Dan & Marek's site was the simple honesty of it all . Dan's English is perfect and the site is very easy to follow but the best bit is you can email them with your simple worries etc and he'll respond personally. So I literally lifted my camera, took a clear photo of my gap-toothed smile , downloaded it then sent it to Dan almost as a challenge i.e. you say your affordable so give me a price on this! I asked for a rough quote on replacing my missing front tooth. I'm no dentist but I honestly couldn't see anyone being able to tidy up my mess as I honestly thought the blackness of my jaw meant somthing more serious was going on. As promised, the following day Dan sent a personal reply and it was a couple of hundred pounds to replace it with an implant (I had stressed that I never ever wanted to wear false teeth!). He cleared all my fears about traveling there (its less than 2hrs in reality from Stanstead) they pick you up at airport & take you to accomodation of your choice ( I'd actually reccommend the cheaper B&B style as its high standard, and your with "real" locals! A week B&B was 168euros!) Well,,,I'd already shifted a load of my bank savings into a classic car that year as the money was doing nothing in the bank and I thought why not have a holiday and get the tooth done while I'm there. Phoned Ryanair, messed about to get the best deal then emailed Dan my arrival time & that was it done,,,,no return now,,,. I had the first weekend to myself & disappeared on a little adventure in the capital city Bratislava using the train from Piestany which was a laugh. On monday I met Marek who took Xrays and photos then we had a chat. He was clear that he could do my missing tooth but posed me the simple question of basically "is that it? ". I admitted I'd love to have a lovely smile & clean teeth but not "perfect" American style white & uniformly straight. I was doing rough maths in my head as we spoke so Marek suggested how many of the top row would need to be made good and I agreed 8 including the missing one needed to me made good. He got a quote printed up and said I should check it and have a think. The quote was for just less than £2700. There was no pressure sales tactic or any of that carry on, I just went out for a smoke and evaluated. I had not actually planned on any dentist taking on my "challenge" of a mouth and suddenly here was one who could do it & showed previous work he had done on someone who had looked nearly as bad as me (nearly! No one looked AS bad!). It was a very private emotional momment as I'd not actually thought this possible and the price is fantastic . Luckily I'd previously decided to have a weeks hols there and if I went ahead with this it would take quite alot of work. I bit the bullet and agreed. I was not hassled for money or anything (my bank had ok'd the money by phone.) If Dan & Marek havn't got my pics on the site you can ask with my blessing, for the pics "of the Irishman" & decide for yourself. Ludimila the hygenist spent ages "sandblasting!" my bottom row and then taught me how to maintain them. To end, the effect on my confidence and self-esteem is immesurable, I really still look in the mirror and can't believe I've escaped from dentures.....! I doubt if there are many of you whose teeth are anywhere near as bad as mine were so you can roughly work out the price of your own but you can simply email them & they'll give you a very close costing in reply. Ps, the little town of Piestany may not be the gay capital of the world but it is stunningly beautiful, and a holiday destination in its own right, I loved the place and miss it alot. Many cafes have menus in Slovak then English so its easy to get by and everything is very low priced so forget about all the exchange rate business with the pound & euro, its still dirt cheap to buy everything {except electric kettles!!! I bought one for my hotel room! Bring your own tea-bags!} Hugh."

9 ncrowns and a tooth extraction
value for moneyDate: 20 July 2009
"I have recently attended at the dental clinic and had 9 crowns and a tooth extraction. I was very anxious and nervous at first as I was not sure what to expect and you hear of so many horror stories in the news, but I was more than pleasantly suprised. i found the surgery to be spotlessly clean and the staff to all be very polite and helpful. All the staff spoke fluent English and were very proffesional in their manner. I stayed at the dental apartment which I found to be very clean and accomodating and close to all amenities. Piestany itself is a wonderful place and very relaxing and I would recommend anybody looking for excellent dental treatment to attend as I will certainly be going back."

Pros: saving money, quality of work, friendly staff Cons: non
"Going to the Piestany Dental Clinic was without doubt one of the best things I have ever done. From the moment you arrive at the airport you are greated and taken care of. All the staff are very friendly and speak excellent english. I had a total of 22 crowns fitted and Dr Malik did this in 2 visits. The quality of work is second to none as he take great pride in his work and patients. I have been given a fantastic smile. I was very nervious at going abroard to have this work done. However my fears were soon put at ease with the consutation with Dr Malik and the profesionalism of all the staff. To top it all I save a fortune as this work would have been very expensive in the UK. So if you want quality work with a pleasent atmosphere and saving money at the same time, then I recomend visiting the Piestany Dental Clinic."

"The luxurious ultra high tech clinic is straight out of Holywood. The friendly clinc staff who speak perfect English, deliver the movie star treatment with delightful informality. The treatment is painless and provided within the patient's time table at an affordable price. For the first time in my life I look forward to a visit to the dentist!"

Pros: fab service Cons: none to report
"I did lots of research into going abroad for treatment after being quoted highly in the UK. Lukas collected us at the airport and showed us where the clinic was and took us to our apartment (which was very spacious and clean). Morning appointment with Dr Marek whereby x-rays and photos were taken and my treatment discussed. My fillings were changed and quotation for 10 bridges given. (Much lower than the UK!!!). All treatment was quick and painless. The clinic is modern, clean and most of all the staff really take care of your needs. I am planning to return at the end of the year and would like to thank everyone for making my trip worthwhile."

"I was so impressed with the experiance. Everything from being collected from and then returned to the airport by the clinic. The whole operation is run as if it is seamless with no delays. The staff are very very friendly and helpfull. What did really impress me was the fact that the dentist, who I spoke to on the satuarday evening, was willing to come in on his day off which was a sunday, especially to see me if the discomfort I was feeling, as a result of some fillings, had not subsided. Then to receive a phone call from him in the morning to check on me was most appreiated. The discomfort was indeed passing. As far as the costs go, I had a consultation here in the UK before I decided to travel overseas and was quoted £5500 and there would of been extra costs added also because we all know the first price is just the starting price. I managed to do everything and more (the fillings) including the flights for £2500, BARGAIN.. I would reccomend anyone who is thinking about treatment here in the UK to STOP and think about traveling here to have the work done. I did and will not look back with any regrets AT ALL. Thank you."
