I am 69 years old have early Dupuytren's disease of both hands. My father who is older has severe bilateral hand contractures which I
wanted to avoid. After searching the internet for options, I reviewed Professor Dr Seegenschmiedt's published data and decided that
for me the benefits of hand radiation outweighed the risks. After contacting Dr S my email, he agreed to consult with me, and after a
thorough physical examination, he said that he felt radiation could help me but that the decision was up to me. I opted to proceed and I
received two accelerated course of 1500 rad over 4 days separated by twelve months. My treatment finished 3 months ago. I have had not
significant drying or skin changes. There is slight stiffness and puffiness of my hands. There has been a decreased in the size of
the nodules in both hands. The overall results have been excellent. Both Professor Dr Seegenschiedt and Dr Schneider speak excellent
English and are personable, efficient and professional and explain the treatment in detail and inspire confidence. The radiation
therapy staff are also very pleasant and efficient. For me, the front desk and appointment scheduling was not well organized. On both
occasions when I came for the first day of week of treatment they had no record of my appointment in spite of emails that they and I had
sent to confirm the date. The front desk staff did manage to locate a doctor and helped me to proceed with treatment in a timely
manner. Overall I would highly recommend the Strahlenzemtrum Hamburg for treatment of Dupuytren's disease

I never had to wait for the treatment or prof. Seegenschmiedt - who seems a true believer in evidence based medicine. He also speaks an
excellent english and so do all of the technicians. Communication was always sufficient and clear. There was a computer problem on
Thursday, but the clinic dealt with this in an accommodating way. With regards to the outcome of the treatment, I will have to wait and
see.

My experience with the clinic and Professor Seegenschmiedt was wonderful. I was impressed with the quick reply to my initial email
inquiries and after determining I was a good candidate for RT therapy, it was an easy process to schedule my visit with the
accommodating staff. Once at the clinic, I had a comprehensive consultation with Prof S who took quite a bit of time to explain the RT
process and expected outcome and marked my feet and hand to provide the RT technician with a plan. The clinic runs very efficiently and
the wait times are minimal compared to the States. The treatment was painless AND was very affordable. Hamburg itself is lovely and the
treatment time per day is short so there is plenty of time to explore this great city. I am glad I was pro-active in taking steps to
halt the progression of my disease with the help of a kind physician who is an expert in its treatment.

I am very happy that I managed to reach the "Cyberknife Clinic Hamburg"! It was a great experience. And thank God that he directed
my steps to choose this clinic . I came here with a relapse of breast cancer 2006 - surgery, irradiation, chemotherapy and hormone
therapy. My case was a special one, because in 2006 were irradiated breast and supraclavicular right up to a total dose of 50.0 / 64.0
Gy. In Romanian could no longer make radiation treatment because they are not performing devices which can irradiate only the
cancerous tissue. Doctors are very good in Romania, but are capped and outdated appliances and do not work in multidisciplinary teams.
Here I found a team of people committed to their mission, true professionals, I felt like I make part of their family. The whole
atmosphere of the clinic is a relaxed, calm, you have the feeling that you are not at the doctor; My feeling has always been that I
was visiting in a pleasant and welcoming place. The entire team is friendly and smiling. Patients come and leave relaxed, smiling and
jovial. Mrs. Karoline Bloch was the first person I contacted in order to coming to Hamburg for treatment. It's a nice person, kind,
very operative who helped me enormously with medical information, with accommodation offers, including made my reservation at the
guesthouse where I decided to stay; whenever I had a problem, not necessarily medical even personal care, I received prompt
response. I know german; but I have noticed that for patients whoo don’t know german , they are persons from the clinic staff
(counterparts to Mrs. Bloch) what discuss the language they know and advise them, complete papers, accompany them on all treatments
during their stay in Hamburg. Three days after I sent mail with all my medical documents, I received an answer that I-m expected to
clinic and treatment costs are reimbursed by health house. As Christmas and New Year meantime, I don’t obtained all necessary
documents departure. When in 5 January 2015 I got the papers, I thought already appointments being made from time no longer occur too
quickly for reprogramming. But to my joy , in 05 January 2015 I got the acceptance letter , and the first appointment was planned
for the 12th of January 2015. Mr. dr.Fabian Fehlauer was not only very knowledgeable about my condition and treatmentl, he is also
sensitive, carefully, never feels rushed, with sense of humor, and I personally did not feel any stress when talking with him; I always
felt close to my heart, I felt him on the same wavelength with my feelings. I spent much time related to the treatment , what I’m
going to do, because on the surface that was to be irradiated got total dose of 50.0 / 64.0 Gy in 2006; I had a tumors close to a
major nerve that depends mobility right hand, which also required irradiation. For the irradiation plan , the medical team, physicists
engineers gathered to discuss the approach to treatment; overlapped images obtained from CT, PET-CT and established plan. After two
weeks of irradiation sternum, pain slowly began to disappear; I took Tramadol already 3 times a day- for terrible pain. At first I did
not believe it, because I have not pain during the day, and after about 5 weeks later I could quit drugs completely. I have no
problem moving the right hand, which shows that irradiation did not affect the nerve that is very close to tumor. Irradiation was
done in two stages, as secondary effects of irradiation would be too dangerous for the body - for this it was need of extension of
validity E112 form. PET-CT in Germany is not settled by home helth, but however I with family opted to do this investigation; I say
it was very useful, because the team had a way to make the best decisions of my treatment. At this PET-CT were found metastases of the
basin ; tomography have not seen because they are too small, but knowing, they were treated alsow with chemotherapy and
electrohipertermie in Hamburg. Electrohipertermie helped strengthening the immune system; We feel that it was beneficial and are
happy that we chose to make it; the procedure is not settled by home helth in Germany and in Romania. Now at home in Romania I
make chemotherapy to the metastases that were too small to be treatment with radiotherapy. I recommend the clinic to all they need
and especially those with special cases, like I was. It worth’s every financially and soul efforts. Do not hesitate to knock
on doors all shut down, beat and beat again until it will be opened. I know it's hard; I went through a lot and I've got to E112 form -
the one who showed me the light at the end of the tunnel: the special team from Hamburg. Do not give up the fight. NOT HESITATE TO
CHOOSE "CYBERKNIFE CLINIC HAMBURG" AND AN EXCELLENCE TEAM !! CHOOSE LIFE !!

After diagnosis and desperate for a truly effective treatment, I began researching on the internet. I found considerable information
that indicated that Herr Prof. Seegenschmiedt and his team had treated this condition effectively for decades. I communicated with Prof.
Seegenschmiedt easily by email and made my appointment for treatment after submitting diagnostic information to him. My experience was
wonderful. He was warm, the staff was extremely supportive and I feel most hopeful for the outcome. I have had the two prescribed
treatments of RT for my condition. It has been a month since the last one, but already I can see and feel results. The treatment is also
very affordable. I highly recommend the center.

I received very good care from Professor Seegenschmiedt and his team at the clinic, from initial emails through my first week of
treatment. The prof speaks very good English, and the rest of the staff speak enough to make the experience perfectly manageable. As is
normal for anyone undergoing this treatment, I have to return for a second session of five doses of radiation. It is not possible to
rate the outcome of treatment as the prognosis is that contracture will be halted in c.80% of people for c.10 years, but this is not
guaranteed. However, I certainly feel that it was worth having the radiation rather than do nothing and, hopefully, I will not need
surgery. It is regrettable that, despite being approved by NICE, the NHS does not provide this treatment in the UK.

I received expert treatment for my disease which has resulted in a very favorable outcome. Prof. Seegenschmiedt was not only very
knowledgeable about my condition and treatment, but he is a very caring doctor as well. Although he had many patients to see, he never
rushed through his explanations, and answered all of my questions in his patient way. The clinic is very efficiently run. The staff were
helpful and kind.

Very easy communication with Prof Seegenschmiedt via email, very accommodating scheduling. Had first round of RT in August 2014 and
second one in November 2014. It is too early to see the effects, but based on my previous experience with my other hand, the RT did
stop the progression at an early stage. Both my stays in Hamburg were very enjoyable. Since the actual treatments are very short, it
leaves a lot of time to explore the city. My flight tickets from the East Coast were more expensive than the treatment itself which I
think is priced very reasonably.

Excellent facilities with knowledgeable and kind staff who speak good English. The clinic is very organized and efficient, while
having a calm and friendly atmosphere. Dr. Seegenschmiedt is a caring, intelligent and experienced physician who puts you ease. He is
an excellent communicator, willing to listen patiently and answer any questions. My treatment results were pain-free feet and
improvement in my hand. A first rate experience, 5 stars, and Hamburg was a lovely city with wonderful public transportant via buses,
trains and ferries.
