Last summer I had a fall and damaged a number of teeth. Rather than undergo a lengthy course of repair treatment with my local dentist,
who I had little confidence in anyway, I decided on a different course of action.
I was looking for was an intensive course of
treatment, preferably residential, where all the work required could be done within a single week. Up until now the term dental tourism
meant little to me, but it became all too apparent that far better value for money and quality standards could be obtained outside the
UK. Further research convinced me that Hungary was my destination of choice, and that within that country one clinic, Helvetic, stood
head and shoulders above the rest.
Apart from their status as being one of the premier dental clinics in Europe, I was
attracted by the fact that their modern city centre premises in Budapest included a state of the art clinic, independent laboratory
facilities and hotel accommodation.
Their website provided me with all the reassurances needed, and my initial telephone
conversation with the clinic answered all my questions and put me at ease. Without delay I booked my free consultation and made travel
plans.
To cut a long story short, my problems were far greater than I realised, other major problems were detected and seven
of my remaining fourteen teeth needed to be extracted. Dentures were never an option for me, so I opted for implant surgery to
completely rebuild my mouth. Knowing how much this would have cost me in the UK I was staggered to find that my quotation was about
£25k lower.
Nine implants were required in order to give me a full set of adult teeth once again, with all my remaining existing
teeth being crowned so as to match my new ones. Four visits to Budapest were required in total over the course of a year to complete
the treatment. Helvetic don’t cut corners and absolutely insist on sufficient time for extractions to heal, and for implants to
integrate into the jaw bone.
The staff at the Helvetic are fantastic, and I cannot praise them highly enough. Many of them
speak English, but in any case I had an English speaking Patient Care Coordinator with me at all times to explain all the various
procedures and answer any questions that I had. The quality of my treatment was second to none, as was the skill and professionalism of
all the specialists who treated me over the course of the year. Surgery of this sort is not without some pain and discomfort, but the
pain management is excellent and being able to lie down on your hotel bed within minutes of having seven teeth extracted in one go is an
absolute blessing.
Now that I have my full set of gleaming new teeth, to all at Helvetic please accept my everlasting thanks
and gratitude for giving me my smile and confidence back. Booking my treatment with you in Budapest, such a beautiful city also, has
been one of the best decisions I have ever made. To anyone reading this who is faced with a similar decision then hesitate no further.
You will be so well looked after and have absolutely no cause for regret.
