The Dawn has an incredible PTSD programme to offer. There is an Inpatient Programme which is very beneficial as in my country, they only
have outpatatient programmes.
A major benefit of an inpatient programme is that you have medical and phycological support during the
PTSD treatment which is essential for your safety and well being. There is also EMDR which appears to approach psychological issues in
an unusual way. It does not rely on talk therapy or medications. Instead, EMDR uses a patient's own rapid, rhythmic eye movements. These
eye movements dampen the power of emotionally charged memories of past traumatic events and desensitize the emotions associated with the
traumatic event. The uses of hypnosis in the psychotherapy of PTSD victims involve coupling access to the dissociated traumatic memories
with positive restructuring of those memories. Hypnosis can be used to help patients face and bear a traumatic experience by embedding
it in a new context, acknowledging helplessness during the event, and yet linking that experience with remoralizing memories as well as
positive memories and a positive belief system.
The clinical team as well as the support workers made a huge difference in my
rehabatilation as they gave me 100% percent support during this difficut time in my life and i am very greatful for my whole experince
during my stay at the dawn.
